Walk Together in Right Relations
Teaching with Purpose, Belonging, and Respect
We invite you to share your interest in participating in a 2-day workshop to support classroom teachers to Bring Indigenous Perspectives and Pedagogies into their Classroom.
By weaving together Indigenous and Western teaching styles, this workshop will support you to:
-
Experience Indigenous pedagogy firsthand through story, reflection, dialogue and land connection.
-
Explore and begin to design classroom applications with guidance from cultural teachers and colleagues across grade levels.
-
Build community and confidence for integrating Native content respectfully and meaningfully.
Educators of all grade levels (K–12) are welcome. This workshop is for formal educators.
This workshop is in response to both the many teachers sharing they want to authentically and appropriately weave Indigenous perspectives and pedagogies into their classroom teaching, as well as requests from our Monterey area Indigenous neighbors and educators that they want our schools to have the knowledge, skills, commitment and understanding to teach about Indigenous histories, knowledge systems, and contemporary experiences.
This is a two‑day, cohort learning experience bringing together Indigenous cultural educators and classroom teachers to support integrating Indigenous pedagogy into curriculum and classroom practices.

Registration
We highly encourage people to register as a cohort. The small cohorts (2-5 people per school) format models relational ways of learning and provides peer support in your local school ecosystem. Spaces are limited. People registering as part of a school cohort will be given registration priority.
Cohorts and individuals should let us know you’re interested by filling out this form by Friday, May 1, 2026.
If you are interested in participating but do not (yet) have colleagues at your school to be part of a cohort, please still share your interest through the form. We would like to accommodate your interest and can connect you with others.
We will formally invite people to register Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
