About the event
Speakers: Dr. Daniel Wildcat and a panel sharing case studies of TEK use
Dr. Wildcat is an author, scientist, former university president, Yuchi member of the Muscogee Nation of Oklahoma. In addition to being a professor and former president of Haskell Indian Nations University, Dr. Wildcat is currently the principal investigator of a 5 year project to develop the Rising Voices, Changing Coasts Research Hub where Indigenous knowledges are intrinsic to the climate science developed to understand climate change impacts on Indigenous coastal Peoples of the U.S. and its territories. This session will share how TEK and Western Science are interweaving to inform climate resilient landscapes.
