Preserves as a Pathway to Right Relations: Considerations and Guidance for Land Trusts & Land Organizations for Engaging Indigenous Peoples
This resource shares promising practices, guidance and case studies related to engaging Indigenous Peoples on preserves. This guidance was developed for land trusts and other practitioners who steward land. It draws on research and input from over 80 practitioners and scholars across the country who have offered specific examples and have undertaken previous efforts to consolidate learning. The document covers current thinking on internal preparations for engagement, some of the nuts and bolts of engagement, and the vast spectrum of rematriation opportunities.
